STEPHEN P. ULLRICH
A member of the Indiana Bar since May 1991, Mr. Ullrich graduated Summa Cum Laude (top 5% of his class) from what is now the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Law Review and wrote "top papers" in his Contracts, Business Law and Torts classes. Having served as a Summer Associate with one of the largest firms in Indiana, and having practiced and co-counseled with attorneys from large and small firms in Central Indiana, Stephen has grown and learned from some of the best lawyers in the State. He has also "gone up against" attorneys from many of these firms with positive results for his clients.
Stephen is not an "ivory tower" lawyer - one who went from College to law school with no practical business experience. Prior to law school Stephen spent 15 years in the "real world" as a small business entrepreneur, which he brings to his 25 years experience as a practicing attorney. He owned and operated his own small trucking company, a photographic marketing company and a small agency managing musical talent and promoting concerts on the East coast. In those earlier years he also worked for a multitude of businesses, including construction and painting companies, food service operations, resource recycling businesses, and a multitude of enterprises in between! Now, as a licensed attorney, Stephen understands and appreciates the challenges and risks involved with owning and operating a small business and working as an employee in the trenches. This diverse background allows Stephen to empathize with his clients, whether owners, employees or consumers, and has taught him how to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life.
Because Stephen practices law as a sole practitioner, you know that the attorney you hire will actually be the same attorney who personally and directly handles your matter; there will not be a young, inexperienced "associate" to whom your important work is handed off without your knowledge or consent. At the same time, if your legal challenge can be better served by involving outside counsel, Stephen is plugged into a network of attorneys with experience and expertise with whom he can consult and co-counsel or to whom he can refer you. Either way, he will ensure you receive the competent legal assistance you deserve. If Stephen does not believe he can personally best serve your legal needs, he will refer you to the attorney he believes would be best suited for your goals and objectives. And because he does not believe in attorney "referral" fees in such situations, you would have the peace of mind knowing that your referral was not tainted by a "quid pro quo" or self-serving motive.
